0#2Shirley Baskett2009-05-02 00:52Super Apostles, expect to be rewarded. In Corinthians and in the letter of Peter we see that churches already had people willing to traffic the gospel for greed. So in my opinion, if a church wants to honour a king, they should also be prepared to become serfs and provide the said king with his expected chariots and escessive life-style. However, Jesus seems to have said that anyone who accepts these earthly excuses for true riches already has their reward.
Perhaps we should feel sorry for these gifted, gold grabbers as they are robbing themselves of an eternal reward. Kindness and love would warn them of this rather than but I fear the voice of love may in this day and age be softer than the decibels when money talks.
True followers will eventually want the security of leaders who are true fathers, who lay down their lives for their flocks. There are not many fathers today just as Paul noted in his day. Quote
0#1Rev. Elder Marty Wright2009-04-30 14:19$250,000.00? To listen to his/her sermons about giving to the poor, and $250,000.00 while the inner-city neighbourhoods surrounding the physical building the church meets in fall down - mothers worry about where the next meal for their babies is going to come from — unemployment for the young guys hovers around 50% — "Daddy" has been gone to the corner store for three years — Marie has about 25 "Uncles" that are not related to her in any way — but we'll just "name and claim" that fortune for the Pastor in Jesus' name!Quote
