Christian Communicators Challenged to Speak the Full Truth

QUOTE: "It will be a matter of great concern if our government can successfully force us to stop proclaiming the full counsel of God. ... But when we put the shackles on our own arms—that is a matter of great sadness. That is a matter of great unbelief. Because if we don’t believe in the power of the gospel, what other power do we have available to us, especially those of us who have been called to proclaim it?” —Frank Wright, president and CEO of National Religious Broadcasters, at the opening session of the 67th Annual Convention & Exposition in Nashville, Tenn. Wright referenced a number of public Christian broadcasters and leaders who shied away from speaking about the more exclusive aspects of Christianity in the mainstream press. 0 #3 Bill Knibbe 2010-03-03 21:50 Well we have seen through the ages that many a church leader wanted to shy away from telling the truth… thanks for a Martin Luther and all those leaders in the Soviet block over all those years. That is where the rubber meets the road! b k Quote

-1 #2 Peggy Hansford 2010-03-03 04:31 I believe He is talking about the supernatural Holy Spirit part of the living God that people don't want to discuss. They are afraid of loosing rejection, or being accused of being psycho or something… but God is bigger than all that even! He says do not be afraid! He is with us! Who can be against us? So I believe he is trying to tell us, HE IS WHO HE SAYS HE IS>>>Bigger than all. NO worries. Walk in HIM. REST in HIm. LOve, and be loved, Love conquers all! He IS (LOVE) the author of all good things. We are the ones who are wretched and have corrupted things. WE NEED HIM to be renewed, cleansed, and restored.. HE IS the way the truth and the LIFE! THANK YOU JESUS! Peggy Quote

+1 #1 Kgar 2010-03-02 20:48 I am interested in this. I, too, see that many church leaders are not speaking deeper truths about Christ's teachings, not only to mainstream media but even within their churches. I am wondering to what exclusive aspects of Christianity is Wright refering? I am not attempting to say there are not exclusive aspects; I am merely wondering which ones he's thinking about. Quote
