QUOTE: "At this point in history, technology allows us to be more connected than ever before, and the church is leveraging that by sharing resources, ideas and supporting each other in ways that weren't possible in the past." —Lori Bailey, director of Communications for LifeChurch.tv, after the multisite church kicked off the second annual One Prayer series this past Sunday. The brainchild of LifeChurch.tv senior pastor Craig Groeschel, One Prayer is bringing together 1,700 church representing 1 million people around the country for four consecutive Sundays of unified prayer, fasting and sharing sermons. Each week, participating churches can simulcast a sermon from a different speaker offering a unique angle on this year's theme of "God is …" But rather than just offering a break from preaching for local pastors, One Prayer's goal is to put into action Jesus' prayer of believers being one. Last year One Prayer churches helped plant more than 600 churches around the world, and this year the movement is aiming for another 600 congregations—including 100 in the tumultuous area of northern India where Christians have faced constant persecution from extremist Hindu groups.
